Description
The implementation agency will be responsible for overall management, including operational, administrative, and financial management of the 'Sustainable Destination Tunisia' project. The project's overarching goal is to strengthen sustainable and inclusive tourism in the southeastern destinations of Tunisia to generate income, improve existing jobs, and create new ones for the population. The program enhances the attractiveness of the destinations by supporting local stakeholders (including Destination Management Organizations - DMOs), projects, and initiatives, by strengthening skills in sustainable tourism, and by improving the regulatory framework. The creation of a fund will enable a demand-driven approach to destination development, thereby ensuring the sustainability of interventions. The core mandate covers a period of 4 years (2025-2028) with, subject to SECO’s financial approval, the option for an additional phase of up to equal duration (total projected project duration: 8 years).
