Description
A tribometer and nanoindentation/nano-scratch testing system, which must fulfill several critical technical and functional criteria. Specifically, it must provide high-resolution and high-accuracy measurements, minimal thermal drift, and a high stiffness platform to ensure precise and reproducible data. The system must support fully automated multiple indentation and scratch testing over large sample areas, enabling efficient high-throughput operation. Optical capabilities must include advanced video microscopy with autofocus and high magnification (up to 10,000x), synchronized panoramic imaging, and true penetration depth tracking during and after scratching. The system should also include active force feedback, multi-modal testing capability, real-time correction mechanisms, and Python-based scripting for customized test protocols and automated data analysis
