Description

With this project, the Kozani district heating facility is functionally connected to the Kozani-Ptolemaida-Amyntaios Single Interconnected district heating system to ensure the coverage of the district heating energy needs in Western Macedonia both during the transitional stage and after the withdrawal of the existing lignite units of the region in the implementation of the National Plan for Energy and Climate. The project includes the construction of a system of underground steel factory-insulated superheated water transport pipes following the European standard EN 13941:2019 (District heating pipes - Design and installation of thermal insulated bonded single and twin pipe systems for directly buried hot water networks) from the facilities production and the transfer pumping station within the Kardia NPP/PPC to the central transfer & distribution pumping stations of the Kozani District Heating facility in the Kasla area of ​​the city of Kozani. The nominal thermal power transmission capacity is predicted to rise to 195MWth, taking into account the current peak of the Kozani district heating system, as well as the thermal demand due to the future expansions of the system in Kozani …
