Description
Joints between pipes to pipes and pipes to equipment can mainly be either welding or mechanical joints ("non-welded"). Bolted flange connections are mostly used by the mechanical compounds, but there are several variants that are requested to be described in this assignment. Traditionally, welded connections are the preferred. For design, installation reasons or operationally, mechanical connections are to be used. We would like a general assessment of the integrity of the different connections and what other factors will be assessed when selecting a solution.
