Description
Turun Raitiotie Oy (Turku Tramway Ltd.) is procuring consulting services related to the procurement of tramway rolling stock. The service procurement is a framework agreement that enables Turun Raitiotie Oy to implement tasks related to the procurement of a tramcar fleet. Turun Raitiotie Oy is launching a tramcar fleet procurement process for starting traffic on the first phase of the Turku tramway between the Harbour and Varissuo. Commercial passenger service is estimated to begin in the early 2030s. The tramway project comprises a 12-kilometre tramline, a tram depot and track connection to the depot, and power supply stations. The project is currently in the final design stage before construction, during which the implementation plan for the tramway project will be drawn up. Implementation planning is based on the general plan for the tramway, which is available at https://www.turku.fi/en/tramway The aim of fleet procurement is to identify the most economically advantageous fleet solution for the Turku tramway.
