Description
Derry City and Strabane District Council invite suppliers to tender for PeacePlus Our Shared History. This tender is to deliver a project focused on cross-community engagement with political ex-prisoners (loyalist and republican) and others, exploring history through talks, tours, museum and exhibition visits and dialogue events. It includes delivery of an OCN (or similar) accredited tour guide training course for community level tourism. The ethos of the project should be to promote peace and reconciliation through training, dialogue and engagement. When exploring potentially contentious history related to Ireland, Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom as well as the wider European context (e.g. Plantation, Siege of Derry, Famine and Troubles), programming must be in line with the principles of shared and ethical remembrance. This is a key project arising from the co-design process within the council area including the political ex-prisoner community, as a way to model reconciliation.
