Description
Derry City and Strabane District Council invite suppliers to tender for PeacePlus War and Peace. Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Regeneration Team have secured funding under the council’s Local Co-Designed PEACEPLUS Action Plan. Capital elements of this project will be directly delivered by the council, including the heritage led restoration and repair of 4 district war memorials (Derry~Londonderry, Strabane, Castlederg, Sion Mills). Alongside these capital works, council is tendering for two external elements to be delivered: Lot 1: Cross-Community Programming. This will be a community-based activity programme to improve shared understanding of the cultural and historical importance of the monuments and the history of that era. It will be mindful of the principles of shared and ethical remembrance to promote dialogue, inclusive of a range of perspectives, on the context of the wider history of that era. Audiences will include young people in schools and adults in the wider community. Lot 2: Historical Research and Interpretation for panels.
