Description
The contracting authority needs to enter into agreements with suppliers of transport between their place of residence and school for pupils who cannot use public transport in the Oslo school, private schools and competence centres. Other transport, for example, to school camps, 17 May and between schools/training places 3, is not a part of this procurement. It is the contracting authority ́s responsibility to facilitate the transport so that the pupils can carry out their statutory right and duty to training. The Education Act gives no guidelines on how the transport shall be organised and carried out. The main rule is that students with the right to free school transport, receive a travel card or grants equivalent to the travel card with Ruter. Students who cannot use public transport due to reduced functional abilities or temporary injury/illness can be granted taxi transport. In addition pupils in the first grade and in some cases 2nd grade can be granted taxi driving if the school road is assessed as particularly dangerous/difficult.
