Description
KB National Library of the Netherlands is currently exploring the potential direct award of a contract for the supply of specific boxboard to be used with a boxing machine. At this stage, there is a presumption that only one supplier may reasonably be capable of delivering the required solution, due to specific technical considerations. However, to ensure a careful and transparent decision-making process, we are conducting this market consultation. An important part of our mission, and one of our duties by law, is to collect national heritage in print form. I.e. to collect printed books, newspapers and magazines published in or about the Netherlands. Included within our collection are numerous special collections, among them medieval manuscripts, rare books, collector’s items and collections of unique material. Between 2027 and 2029, our collection will be relocated to a newly constructed automated storage facility. Preparations for this are underway and part of these entail packaging or repackaging to make sure the collections can be moved safely and without damage or loss of materials.
