The EU Platform for Space Traffic Coordination aims to address the exponential increase in active satellites and the associated risks of orbital collisions, including those posed by large constellations. The initiative seeks to structure, secure and expand coordination between satellite operators, public entities and commercial SSA providers, building on existing services developed under EU Space Surveillance and Tracking (EU SST). It is intended to extend coordination beyond current EU SST members by enabling the collection and processing of key information, such as contact details and manoeuvre data from non-registered or international actors.
