Skärhamns skola står inför en omfattande renovering/ombyggnad på grund av upplevda problem med inomhusmiljön. Ombyggnationen innebär att planlösningar förändras och att installationer förnyas. Tillgänglighet och brandskydd förbättras. Ytterväggar och tak förnyas och hus E utrustas med solceller. Skolans låg- och mellanstadium är evakuerade till tillfälliga lokaler på skolområdet. Då behovet av gymnastiksal är stort skall hus gymnastiksal färdigställas tidigare än övriga hus.
