Description

The Contracting Authority has launched the METKA project, which aims to replace the automatic train protection system of the Helsinki Metro with a radio-based Automatic Train Control (ATC) and Radio Network (RN) system. As part of the METKA project, the Contracting Authority is considering a procurement of “Work Train ATC Common Interface”, entailing the installation, testing and commissioning of the ATC and RN equipment on the Work Trains. The scope of the procurement is described in more detail in Annex 1 (Procurement description). This Request for Information must not be considered as a call for tenders. At this stage, the Contracting Authority requests information for preliminary market consultation prior to the official procurement procedure. The Contracting Authority will decide separately whether to proceed with the procurement. The purpose of the market consultation is to receive feedback on the intended scope of the procurement from potential service providers interested in the provision of the services and gather information on potential service providers, on their resources and capabilities.
