The subject of the contract is the open source component ‘PHPStan’, a static open source code analysis tool that supports the development of software in the programming language “PHP”, which is widely used across all industries. ‘PHPStan’ analyses code during the development phase and identifies potential vulnerabilities, programming errors and inconsistent structures, for example. As part of several work packages, the contract specifically covers the further development and technical improvement of PHP code analysis methods in order to identify potential security gaps and risks in modern PHP software development at an early stage. The aim of this service is to strengthen the overall security, stability and trustworthiness of digital infrastructures in the public interest in the long term.
