Med hjemmel i Lov om pligtaflevering af offentliggjort materiale indsamler og bevarer Det Kgl. Bibliotek radio- og tv-materiale fra landsdækkende, regionale og lokale radio- og tv-stationer. Der gives adgang til samlingen i henhold til ophavsretslovens bestemmelser hos Det Kgl. Bibliotek, og til studerende og forskere ved videregående uddannelser efter aftale med ophavsretshaverne. I den forbindelse udbyder Det Kgl. Bibliotek ydelsen ”Leverance af digitale radio- og tv-materiale”.
