Description
The Avalanche and Water Resources Department in NVE is responsible for procuring damage as a result of floods and avalanches. We do this by improving society's ability to handle flood and avalanche risks. As a part of this we map danger areas, follow up municipal area planning, contribute to security measures as well as emergency incidents. In addition the department shall contribute to environmentally friendly management of the waterways. The norwegian municipalities are the most important users of our products and services. The Avalanche and Water Resources Department has approx. 165 employees divided between five specialised sections and five regional units. The department has offices in Oslo, Hamar, Førde, Tønsberg, Trondheim and Larvik.
