Description
The European Commission Representation in Latvia (hereinafter referred to as ECR), in cooperation with partners all over Latvia, implements various projects and activities dedicated to the Europe Day in the first half of the year until the fist half of May. The “European Exam”, the Open Days, the “Back to School”, as well as various initiatives organised by schools, municipalities, public authorities, non-governmental organisations and interest groups have become the tradition of the Europe Day. The aim of these activities is to strengthen Latvian citizens’ sense of belonging to Europe and its values of solidarity, human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, human rights, recalling that we are an integral part of Europe and strengthening this awareness through themes and activities close to every Latvian citizen. “European Exam” is an ECR project aimed at increasing the knowledge of European Union issues for every citizen of Latvia, and in particular schoolchildren and students.
