Description
In Willemstad wordt een multifunctionele accommodatie (MFA Willemstad) ontwikkeld na positieve besluitvorming door de gemeenteraad. Een voorziening voor jong en oud, voor en door Willemstad. MFA Willemstad biedt huisvesting aan twee basisscholen (De Singel onder bestuur van Stichting de Waarden, en OBS Willem de Zwijger onder bestuur van Stichting Openbaar Basisonderwijs West-Brabant), kinderopvang en buitenschoolse opvang (Stichting Kibeo), het gemeenschapshuis (Stichting Buurthuis Irene) en een gymzaal (eigendom gemeente). Aanleiding hiervoor is de behoefte aan structureel adequate huisvesting voor de basisscholen, waarbij de kans wordt aangegrepen om een brede maatschappelijke voorziening te realiseren.
