Předmětem Soutěže je návrh architektonického řešení novostavby budovy Magistrátu města Brna, která bude umístěna na ulici Benešova situované na brněnské okružní třídě, včetně přilehlých veřejných prostranství v rozsahu řešeného území. Záměrem statutárního města Brna je realizovat moderní a civilní úřad, který bude pohodlný pro veřejnost i jeho zaměstnance. Hlavním posláním nové budovy Magistrátu města Brna je integrace přepážkových pracovišť „front office“ s agendou spojenou s evidencí obyvatel, občanskými průkazy, cestovními pasy a evidencí vozidel a oprávnění, řidičskými průkazy apod. Součástí nové budovy budou i běžná kancelářská pracoviště odborů zajišťujících ostatní agendy.
