Description
Helse Bergen and Helse Førde intend to enter into a contract with Smith &Nephew for the hire of a RF generator and the procurement of associated consumables. The equipment shall primarily be used in arthroscopy surgeries, but with the possibility to also use it for hip prosthesis surgeries in Helse Førde.The reason for entering into agreement with Smith & Nephew is that their RF system has an RF probe with suction function, temperature control at the tip of the probe inside the joint and with temperature monitoring of the fluid circulating out of the joint during arthroscopy. The Contracting Authority has chosen to enter into a contract for Helse Bergen and Helse Fonna as they use these functionalities in their procedures.
