Description
Fintraffic ANS is starting the procurement of a remote aerodrome air traffic service system for 7 light traffic density airports and as an option to one or more domestic and abroad airports for remote traffic control. Light traffic density airports in this context means that the total volume of all 7 airports is currently approximately 40.000 yearly operations. The multiple operating model is based on simultaneous operation of several airports from a single controller working position. The Multiple Remote Operated Tower (MROT) concept is based on flexible ATS service provided remotely from the Remote Tower Center (RTC). The MROT concept is based on existing TWR ADI/APS procedures and additional technical functionalities to facilitate remote operations. Improved situational awareness and orientation are basic requirements that will be supported with specially designed working environment and user interface. The CWPs (Control Working Position) will be similar as has been assessed in SESAR validations with vertical division of the panoramic camera view.
