Description
Aalto yliopiston Elektroniikan ja nanotekniikan laitoksen piirisuunnitteluryhmät tutkivat ja opettavat integroitujen piirien suunnittelua. Tutkimushankkeiden aikana suunnitellaan integroitu piiri, jonka kuvaus sitten lähetetään kaupalliselle puolijohdevalmistajalle piirin valmistusta varten Europractice-organisaation kautta. Europractice on EU-rahoitteinen organisaatio, joka toimii välittäjänä yliopistojen ja puolijohdevalmistajien välillä. Käytännön työn tekee Europracticen alaisuudessa kaksi toimijaa: Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft ja IMEC. Prosessitalojen edustus on jaettu näille kahdelle toimijalle kulloinkin valittavan teknologian perusteella.
