Description
The City of Mikkeli invites stakeholders to a market dialogue to discuss the development of the decommissioned Kenkävero wastewater treatment plant area for tourism, leisure, and business purposes. This invitation/announcement is not a request for tenders, and no tenders will be accepted based on it. It is also not a public procurement process under the Procurement Act or procurement directive, but rather a land allocation process. A public competition will be organized for the land allocation, following the processes and principles of public procurements. The land transfer competition will be conducted as a competitive negotiation procedure after the comments and interaction gathered during the market dialogue. Description of the Development Area The old wastewater treatment plant in Mikkeli was built in 1960 on the shores of Lake Saimaa, at Kenkäveronniemi in Mikkeli. The site is one of the most scenic building locations in Mikkeli – located near the historic Kenkävero manor, within a short walking distance from the city centre.
