Description
The Mekong Land Initiative (MLI) stands for the transformation of SDC’s (Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation) engagement in improving land governance and in accelerating the implementation of global and regional land governance principles in the Mekong region. The investment in the MLI is closely aligned with Switzerland’s International Cooperation Strategy 2025–2028, particularly its thematic focus on climate change, environmental protection, and the sustainable management of natural resources. The project aims to achieve the following development results: Smallholder women and men farmers in CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam) countries, especially those from ethnic minorities, enjoy secure, equitable and sustained access and control over agricultural land and forest and benefit from sustainable livelihoods as responsible agricultural investments (RAI) practices become more widely adopted.
