Description
Rijkswaterstaat (RWS) is preparing the renewal of Weigh in Motion (WIM) 2.0. The WIM systems measure vehicle loads while driving and provide essential information for asset management, maintenance, and – in the future – potentially automated enforcement of overloading. The current systems are outdated and no longer meet the long term requirements. In addition, RWS seeks insight into the technical feasibility, lifecycle costs (TCO), data quality, and the conditions required for a future proof WIM system up to 2050. With this market consultation, RWS invites market parties to share their knowledge and experience regarding the technical, organisational, and financial conditions for the renewal of WIM systems, including their potential application in future automated enforcement. The information gathered will be used to support project preparation and the development of the procurement strategy. This market consultation does not have a selective character and does not provide any advantage in a potential future tender procedure.
