Description

Bærum kommune cooperates with Oslo, Asker and Drammen to develop an efficient and sustainable product logistics on the section Oslo-Drammen.Fornebu HUB is the first HUB (hub) for product logistics that is established in the regional cooperation. Fornebu HUB shall be a pilot project that shall develop better services for inhabitants and businesses at Fornebu. It will contribute to fewer large lorries and less traffic at Fornebu and Snarøya. Fornebu HUB will be a role model project for other municipalities and the experience that will be carried out in the coming years will be of great importance, also outside Norway's borders. The project is a co-operation between Bærum municipality, Urban Services and Aker Property Group. Fornebu HUB is located at the entrance to Fornebu (Oksenøyveien 10), where goods can be downloaded into emission free vehicles. Bærum has ambitious targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the municipality. Nearly 40% of the direct emissions in the municipality come from heavy vehicles and goods vans.
