Hankinnan kohteena on maalilennokkeja (Banshee Whirlwind ja Snipe MK15C) sekä niiden varaosia. Kyseisiä tuotteita tarvitaan maalilennokkijärjestelmän suorituskyvyn turvaamiseen. Hankinnalla täydennetään aikaisemmin hankittujen maalilennokkijärjestelmien tuhoutunutta kalustoa ja muita ko. järjestelmän osia. Maalilennokkeja käytetään tutkimus- ja kehityskäytössä sekä maalikoneina ilmatorjunnan ammunnoissa.
