Description
In accordance with the Animal Health Personnel Act § 3 a, the municipalities are required to ensure satisfactory access to services from animal health personnel, as well as responsibility for organising clinical veterinary duty outside ordinary working hours. Hemsedal, Gol, Nesbyen and Flå municipalities are included in the duty district Nedre Hallingdal and shall cooperate on veterinary duty services. The veterinary duty is a necessary part of the stand-by against serious animal diseases and it is important for maintaining good animal welfare. In the duty district it is currently difficult to recruit veterinary surgeons, and for the duty district Nedre Hallingdal there is mainly only one tenderer who can provide this service with a rotation that is both within the regulations stipulated in the Working Environment Act and at the same time is a rotation that is liveable for veterinary surgeons.
