Description
Helse Stavanger HF intends to enter into a procurement agreement for nefelometers, as well as a framework agreement for equipment dependent consumables with Siemens Healthcare. For protein analysis of different proteins in serum (Rheumatoid factors, immunoglobulins (IgG, IgM, IgA), complement factors (C3c/C4), etc.) Stavanger University Hospital shall procure a nefelometer – a method principle that in several contexts is more sensitive and specific than the alternatives. The instrument from Siemens Healthineers (Atellica NEPH 630) is a medium sized instrument and has a analyses spectre and capacity adapted to Stavanger University Hospital ́s needs, which currently has approx. 16,000 analyses per annum. By choosing Atellica NEPH 630, Stavanger University Hospital can continue reference intervals and decision limits. Altering the reference interval and decision limits triggers extensive work in particular for the laboratory, but also for the requisitioners. The laboratory does not currently have the personnel to carry out such work.
