Description
The Directorate of Culture and Culture ́s secretariat administers eight procurement schemes in which the state purchases books from different publishers for the purpose of facilitating breadth, diversity and quality in Norwegian literature with good accessibility for all. The books are procured with funding from the Norwegian Cultural Fund and are referred to as cultural fund books. The procurement schemes include both paper books and e-books. This agreement shall ensure a general service that safeguards reception, clarification, distribution and information on the Cultural Fund Books. This service is done for both the paper format and the e-book format of the Kulturfondbøkene. The Culture Fund Books are delivered to all of the public libraries and school libraries throughout Norway. In addition the books are to be sent to five foreign stations, the Norwegian Parliament and the National Library.
