Description
Avinor AS held a competition in 2021 for a concession contract for the hire of premises for carrying out business activities within Duty Free and Single Price at several airports in Norway. Travel Retail Norway AS was awarded a contract for Oslo Airport, Bergen Airport, Stavanger Airport and Trondheim for a duration from 01.01.2023 to 31.12.2027. Equivalently Airport Retail Norway AS was awarded the contracts for Kristiansand, Ålesund, Bodø, Tromsø, Molde, Evenes and Kristiansund. Single Price has been established in Ålesund, Bodø and Tromsø. The contracts for Duty Free and Travel Value make up a large part of the commercial revenues for Avinor AS. In the period from the competition was announced until today, the framework conditions and the market situation have changed significantly, which in turn has resulted in significantly weakening passenger numbers and turnover. Avinor sees a need for a temporary change to the contract with the aim of contributing to increased turnover in an extraordinary market.
