Podstata modernizace spočívá ve změně šířkového uspořádání silnice I/53, ve zřízení mimoúrovňových křižovatek a zajištění nové obsluhy navazujícího území a v eliminaci vadných dopravně bezpečnostních parametrů stávající silnice I/53 odstraněním stávajících úrovňových napojení a sjezdů.
