Description
The activity aims at investigating alternative concepts and solutions for the evolution of life cycle management of future EU navigation satellites in MEO, focusing on the identification of most promising and relevant use cases, the definition and assessment of enabling capabilities, building blocks and technologies for on-orbit servicing. The study will define and assess the feasibility of system concepts, associated requirements and major trade-offs to improve the efficiency and sustainability of navigation satellites life cycle in MEO. This activity belongs to Galileo/EGNOS Upstream R&D which is part of the space component of Horizon Europe, under which, in line with the signed FFPA and relevant Contribution Agreement, ESA is delegated by the European Commission to manage this activity. ESA adapted procurement rules will apply as per the ITT to be published (open Competition in 2 stages).
