Description
Die Stadt Karlsruhe als Auftraggeberin legt großen Wert auf eine naturnahe und extensive Pflege der Grünflächen und möchte auf ihren Grünflächen die Biodiversität fördern und einen wichtigen Beitrag an die Sicherung der Lebensgrundlage leisten. Die Grünflächen sollen strukturreicher, weniger häufig gemäht und das Mahdgut aufgenommen werden. Die Stadt Karlsruhe hat in den 1982 die Blumenwiesenmahd (zweischürige Mahd) eingeführt. Zusätzlich zur Blumenwiesenmahd hat das Gartenbauamt der Stadt Karlsruhe im Auftrag des Gemeinderates im Jahr 2020 ein spezielles Mähkonzept zur Förderung der Biodiversität entwickelt (im Nachfolgendem „Naturnahe Mahd“ genannt). Die Naturnahe Mahd wurde erstmals 2022 als eigenes Mähprogramm aufgelegt.
