Description

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is a publicly owned, national, statutory body created by the Health Act, 2004 to manage and deliver or arrange to be delivered on its behalf, health and personal social services throughout Ireland. As part of the Scoliosis and Spina Bifida Action Plan, the HSE is actively seeking to reduce the waiting time children and adolescents resident in Ireland should wait for paediatric orthopaedic surgery for conditions such as Spina Bifida and Scoliosis. As part of this plan, the HSE wishes to engage with a number of hospitals to deliver the procedures listed at Appendix 2 of the Invitation To Tender. It shall be a requirement that all medical devices and implants used as part of any surgery performed pursuant to the Panel Agreement are CE marked. Treatment for the relevant procedures will be funded through the HSE. The treatment of paediatric scoliosis involves complex spinal surgery. The HSE is only willing to entrust the treatment of HSE patients to hospitals of the highest quality in terms of the clinical team and the hospitals facilities and resources.
