Description
Op 14 februari 2024 heeft de Gezondheidsraad (GR) aan de staatssecretaris van VWS een advies aangeboden over het immuniseren van kinderen tegen het respiratoir syncytieel virus (RSV) in hun eerste levensjaar. De raad adviseert om op korte termijn alle kinderen in hun eerste levensjaar via het Rijksvaccinatieprogramma (RVP) bescherming aan te bieden tegen RSV door ze antistoffen toe te dienen (immunisatie met de antistof nirsevimab). Op basis van het GR advies en de resultaten van de verkenning van het RIVM heeft de staatssecretaris van VWS het besluit genomen om in 2025 RSV-immunisatie toe te voegen aan het RVP.
