Upphandlingen omfattar deponering av utsorterat avfall från hushåll och verksamheter samt krossning och utsortering av deponirester från återvinningsbara fraktioner. Strömstads kommun tar idag emot blandat avfall från hushåll och verksamheter. Avfallet grovsorteras i olika fraktioner på avfallsanläggningen av Beställarens egen personal på återvinningscentralen på Österröd i Strömstad. Deponiresterna omlastas i containers sorterade som deponiavfall, gips, pvc-plast, asbest och ej krossbart avfall.
