Description

Demolition and final removal of the old EISCAT 32m dish antennas located at the EISCAT Kiruna, Sweden and EISCAT Sodankylä, Finland sites. The enquiry is for removing both antennas, but a Tenderer can opt for offering removal at just one of the sites. The enquiry also stipulates that the resulting scrap-metal will be owned by the Tenderer, which can then make best use of its value. The two antennas are mounted on concrete foundations. The foundations will be kept. The antennas are of wheel-on-track design. The rails will be removed from the foundations as well. Both antennas are functional so a preferred wrecking positioning can be set before power and all control cables are disconnected. The Tenderer can choose the wrecking method. The antennas are bolted so the dismantling can be done piece-by-piece or by cutting. At the time the demolition starts, the ownership of the antennas will be transferred to the Tenderer, which can then make best use of any residual material value. After the demolition, and removal of the scrap metal, the Tenderer is responsible for reinstating the area around the antennas to the original condition.
