Description
The concept behind a Bike Library is to provide people with the opportunity to trial for free a range of eBikes, eCargo, e-long tail and e-Folding Bikes. The main objective is to allow people to experience first-hand the benefits of eMobility without the upfront costs of purchasing their own eBike immediately. This is achieved by allowing people to borrow the bikes for around 3 months and use it for their commuting and daily activities instead of their car to encourage a modal shift. The project will focus on private workplaces in Dublin and Limerick and will provide access to the bike library to a selected cohort of employees while also engaging a control group within the same workplaces to achieve an objective assessment of the intervention. The bikes will be available to each company for the period of 1 year, then a second cohort of companies will avail of the bikes in year 2. The participants in each company will have access to the bikes for 3 months, then the bikes will be given to other participants within the same company. The first pilot must be delivered by September 2025.
