Description

The Belgrade – Niš Railway is the backbone of the Serbian railway network and the longest section of Railway Corridor X in Serbia (approx. 230 km). The implementation of the Belgrade – Niš Railway Modernisation (the “Project”) is strategic to the country and to its connectivity with the European rail networks. The Project concerns the comprehensive modernisation, reconstruction and upgrade of the railway line connecting Belgrade and Niš, the biggest city in Southern Serbia, strategically positioned on the crossroad towards North Macedonia and Bulgaria. It is one of the most important investments in the extended TEN-T Core network and its investment costs are estimated to amount to EUR 2.8 billion. The Republic of Serbia intends to finance the Project through multiple sources, including the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF). The Contracting Authority intends to apply a part of the Project financing to eligible payments to a consultant for the provision of supervision services of the construction, reconstruction, and/or rehabilitation works for the Project implementation. …
