Description
Justification for a direct procurement with an intention notice for Helse Vest RHF intends to enter into framework agreement on casting wax (consumables) from Histolab Products AS for use by the health companies in the region. Background information the Contracting Authority, Helse Vest RHF, intends to undertake a direct procurement of casting wax from Histolab Products AS, based on the following assessments: The costs of supplier exchange casting wax are used daily in large volumes and are closely integrated in the laboratories ́ routines. A supplier change will lead to comprehensive testing, validation of new products and adaptations of procedures. This will require considerable resources in the form of time and personnel. The costs connected to the exchange will be assessed as disproportionately high in relation to the framework agreement's duration of only four years and value. Time consuming process Validation of new casting wax involves the risk of delays in diagnostics and increased workloads at the laboratories.
