Formålet med anskaffelsen af ARGOS DSS (Beslutningsstøttesystem) er at give Beredskabsstyrelsen, som enhed under Ministeriet for Samfundssikkerhed og Beredskab, adgang til et system med henblik på at understøtte BRS beslutningsstøtte i form af spredningsprognoser og beregninger for forskellige gasser og partikler som f.eks. radiologiske nuklider og kemiske gasser.
