Description

The program ‘Audio Forensics’ (AuFo) intends to analyze low-quality audio data regarding its information about the recording location. Partial room acoustic parameters can be used to map a characterization of the room to a unique digital fingerprint, which could potentially provide investigative leads within criminal prosecution proceedings. For example, a room can be characterized in terms of its size, geometry, composition, and location (indoors or outdoors) in order to ideally be able to act in time-critical applications, such as kidnapping or missing persons investigations. In addition, it is possible to analyze to what extent the identification of the device provides information about the recording location.
