Sinds enkele jaren heeft SCIO Groep de ambitie om nieuwbouw te realiseren voor het Montessori Kindcentrum (MKC) in Hoorn. Dit is een openbare school. Hier willen zij een leeromgeving creëren waarin kinderen zich vrij kunnen ontwikkelen, verantwoordelijkheid leren nemen en zich verbonden voelen met zichzelf, anderen en de samenleving. De opdracht behelst het ontwerpen van een nieuwbouw school, welke geïntegreerd wordt met de renovatie van een monumentaal gebouw. Het ruimteprogramma omvat in totaal 2.371 m2 bvo, onderverdeeld in meters voor de school (1.971 m2 bvo) en kinderdagverblijf (400 m2 bvo). 2371 m2 bvo
