The overarching goal of this project is to empower the Falkland Islands to navigate the evolving landscape of blue and green finance, ensuring sustainable development and climate resilience. This initiative seeks in particular to: - Enable Access to Blue and Green Finance: Provide comprehensive technical advice on harnessing both public and private blue and green finance mechanisms, crucial for fostering sustainable economic practices and environmental stewardship within the Falkland Islands. - Identify and Overcome Barriers: Uncover and address existing obstacles to accessing these finance mechanisms. This includes formulating policy recommendations that cater to the unique environmental, economic, and social landscape of the Falkland Islands, ensuring that financial solutions are both accessible and effective. - Evaluate Financial Potential: Assess, through tailored and locally relevant assumptions, the economic implications and opportunities that blue and green finance mechanisms offer.
