Description

DSA needs advanced calculations and modelling to assess the safety risks connected to the following objects: The submarines Komsomolets and K-27, which include reactors with core fuel. SHELF-M micro reactor, representative of new Russian deployments.  These vessels and reactors represent a potential risk for critique, neutron activation of seawater and organisms, as well as the spreading of radioactive substances to the marine environment. The analyses shall provide a professionally robust basis for stand-by, risk management and the establishment of a measuring programme for radionuclides in the northern areas.
