Het klinisch laboratorium HETUMO wil overgaan tot de aanschaf van een systeem voor identificatie en classificatie van micro-organismen op basis van MALDI-TOF (Matrix-Assisted-Laser-Desorption-Ionisation Time-Of-Flight) massaspectrometrie. Deze identificatietechniek maakt gebruik van massaspectrometrie type MALDI-TOF. Het aantal spots geanalyseerd op de massaspectrometer wordt op jaarbasis geraamd op 55.000.
