Description

The Employment in Jordan 2030 (EJ2030) project is part of the German development cooperation programme "Private Sector and Financial System Development in Jordan". The programme aims to improve the prospects for socially and ecologically sustainable economic development and good employment in Jordan. The module EJ2030 makes a direct contribution to the programme objective by supporting the Jordanian Ministry of Labour (MoL) in designing, implementing and evaluating data-based and target group-oriented labour market policies and regulations. It also supports the private sector in improving decent work conditions. The MoL and other labour market actors lack target group-oriented and evidence-based labour market policies and regulations as well as the prerequisites to effectively implement appropriate measures. Based on the learning experiences of the previous module, the project addresses the lack of a structured approach and the still insufficient instruments, coordination and competences for labour market policy design and implementation at national and sub-national level.
