Description

GovStack"s objective is to develop the first global toolbox for eGovernment services, based on interoperable and reusable Information and communications technology (ICT) building blocks. GovStack is a multi-stakeholder initiative established in 2020 between the BMZ, Estonia, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Digital Impact Alliance (DIAL). Public services and administration processes, such as awarding contracts, patient records, passport management or the distribution of social benefits, sometimes generate considerable administrative effort both on the part of citizens and on the part of the authorities. As a result, public services - especially in countries with low resources - are often inefficient, inadequate, user-unfriendly and expensive. In addition, technical and bureaucratic silos in the administrations make coordination difficult or lead to fragmented solutions that cannot be scaled. The GovStack Initiative develops technical specifications for ICT building blocks.
