Description

1.1 The Mekong Delta Climate Resilience Programme (MCRP) The Mekong Delta Climate Resilience Programme (MCRP) is a technical cooperation project co-financed by the Governments of Germany, Switzerland and Viet Nam. MCRP is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in close cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Ministry of Construction (MOC) and the 13 Mekong Delta provinces. MCRP"s objective is to support the Vietnamese authorities in enhancing the climate-resilience of the Mekong Delta and its communities, thereby ensuring sustainable development in the region. The project has a timeframe of five years, from 2021 to 2025. 1.2 The Coastal Monitoring System (CMS) in the Mekong Delta of Viet Nam In its implementation plan, MCRP has an activity to establish a Coastal Monitoring System (CMS) in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. The CMS consists of 17 (surveillance-) camera stations of which 11 stations are integrated with weather/meteorology sensors, to be installed at 17 priority locations along the coast of the Mekong Delta that concern 7 coastal provinces namely Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Tra Vi…
