Description
Oslo municipality c/o the Agency for Urban Environment is responsible for, among other things, the operation and maintenance of the road network and urban areas in Oslo. We currently have four service contracts for operation and maintenance of the road network. The contract work includes, among other things, winter operations, including snow shovelling, salting, gritting and transportation of snow. To ensure accessibility in the event of large amounts of snow, polluted and salty snow must be transported away from the streets. The Agency for Urban Environment had an agreement with NCC Norge AS for the use of a snow melting barge for handling polluted snow. The contract expired 31 March 2023. The Agency for Urban Environment has been working strategically for several years to find alternative solutions for handling polluted snow. Currently there are no other systems in the market that fulfil the Manager ́s requirements for the discharge of melt water. After a direct procurement, the Agency for Urban Environment has entered into a new contract with NCC Norge AS for the receipt and treatment of polluted and salty snow.
